By using poet.horse you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the site.
poet.horse lets you compose poems where every word must be a real horse name drawn from a curated dictionary. Poems can be submitted for public display on the site and optionally cross-posted to platforms like Tumblr. The site is operated by one individual (the operator) as a personal project.
You retain copyright on any original creative expression in your poems. By submitting a poem for publication you grant the operator a perpetual, royalty-free, worldwide license to display, reproduce, and distribute the poem on poet.horse and associated platforms (Tumblr, Bluesky, etc.) with attribution where possible.
Anonymous poems are published without identifying information and are not retroactively linkable to an account. Do not submit content you have reason to believe is defamatory, harassing, obscene, or illegal.
Account creation requires authentication through a third-party provider (currently Google via Clerk). You are responsible for keeping your account secure. The operator may suspend or delete accounts that violate these terms.
You may not use poet.horse to: submit spam or automated content; harass, threaten, or impersonate others; circumvent rate limits or access controls; or attempt to compromise the security of the site or its users.
The service is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. The operator is not liable for any damages arising from your use of the site, interruptions to service, or loss of content. The horse name dictionary is drawn from public records and may contain errors.
These terms may be updated at any time. Continued use of the site after a change constitutes acceptance of the new terms. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
Questions about these terms: use the contact link in the site footer or reach the operator through their public profile.
