Data Deletion

Last updated: May 2026

Plain English

  • You can delete your account and personal data at any time.
  • Deleting your account removes your profile, stable, saved horses, saved poems, and preferences.
  • Your published poems stay on the site attributed anonymously, unless you ask us to remove them too — just say so in your deletion request.
  • Anonymous poems (submitted without an account) cannot be deleted by request because we have no way to verify authorship.

How to request deletion

We do not yet have an automated self-service deletion flow. To request deletion of your account and data, contact the operator directly:

  1. Send an email to [email protected] with the subject line Data Deletion Request — poet.horse.
  2. Include the display name or URL slug associated with your account (e.g. poet.horse/u/your-slug) so we can locate your record.
  3. Let us know whether you also want your published poems removed, or if you are happy for them to remain attributed anonymously.

We will process your request within 30 days and confirm by reply.

Facebook / Meta OAuth

If you connected your account through a Meta product, you can also initiate deletion via the Facebook settings page under Apps and Websites. Removing poet.horse from that list will revoke our access to your Facebook identity. To delete the data we hold, follow the email process above — Facebook's deauthorization callback does not automatically purge our records.
